CLEAR BOUNDARIES
Security and the public site
This website explains the project. It is separate from the tax-preparation engine and is not a service for storing or processing taxpayer information.

What this website does
PrepReturns.com publishes static project information, editorial articles, diagrams, and selected synthetic product screenshots. Its core content is available as ordinary HTML. Small browser enhancements support navigation and image viewing.
There is no tax-preparation backend, user account, payment flow, or taxpayer-upload feature on this site. The screenshots and output examples illustrate fictional businesses used in product development. They should not be treated as real client records or an invitation to submit your own.
The site uses Google Tag Manager to manage Google Analytics 4 for website analytics. The hosting provider may also process request information in operating and protecting the service; see Privacy for more detail.
The engine is a separate system
The S-Corp Engine originated as a local professional workspace. Its architecture includes source evidence, reviewed facts, saved preparation history, calculations, workpapers, and output. Those product concepts are described here, but the engine itself is not running behind this website.
Publishing a product showcase does not establish the controls needed to host real taxpayer data. Any future hosted application would need its own concrete security architecture, operational practices, access controls, data-handling decisions, and documentation.
A future synthetic showroom should use fictional examples and should not accept real taxpayer information. That is a direction for a separate service, not a current upload capability.
Information you choose to share
Contact links take you to Trio Tax. This website does not collect or submit a contact form on your behalf. External sites have their own practices and contact options.
For a project discussion, begin with a general description. Do not include tax returns, taxpayer identification numbers, credentials, financial records, or confidential client documents in an unsolicited message. A question about workflow or software behavior can usually be explained with a fictional example.
Report a concern
If you notice a security issue involving this public site, use Contact through Trio Tax and identify it as a PrepReturns security concern.
Describe the affected URL, the behavior you observed, and the steps needed to understand it without including sensitive information. A concise, non-sensitive explanation is more useful than a large collection of logs or private data. Do not access other people’s information or disrupt the service while investigating.
This is an existing contact path for responsible reports, not a dedicated security portal or a promise of a particular response time. The project does not claim an independent security certification or an absolute guarantee against defects.
Keep the boundaries visible
The public site, the private engine, and any future hosted service have different responsibilities. We describe them separately so that a product screenshot is not mistaken for a data-hosting assurance, and a development feature is not mistaken for a service offered by this website.
For the site’s handling of request information and external links, read Privacy. For the scope of the published material, read Terms.
